Muse

I believed her when she called me a writer

Even if I told her that I’d rather a storyteller

I went for my hidden pen at night

And found that I had no pain to write away

I had an ambition to satisfy

And she married not myself before a publisher could see this manuscript

I couldn’t un-write everything

And so her memory is what you are holding in your hands
